Employment history
The Web Kitchen
Technical Account Manager
February 2024 - Present, Remote
At the start of 2024, I was asked to return to The Web Kitchen in the role of Technical Account Manager, working remotely from Cornwall on a part-time basis. The role bridges across multiple teams in the agency with three main aspects:
- Managing existing portfolio websites as part of the client success team, owning several accounts (such as Kensington Park School, Unilever Ventures and Bromley High School) and providing support to senior members of the team with larger accounts (including Keltbray, Radiocentre and Hyde New Homes). This aspect of the role is the same as my previous account manager role with TWK (see below).
- Developing solutions that enhance the agency’s day-to-day workflows and service offerings. This more open-ended aspect of the role has so far included development of an advanced SEO service offering, improving monitoring with automation and building advanced spreadsheet features.
- Providing resource to the development team as a support web developer to make changes to portfolio websites, drawing on knowledge of PHP, JavaScript, CSS/Sass and HTML to help evolve bespoke client WordPress themes.

Solve
Web Developer
December 2022 - February 2024, Cornwall
Working on a part-time basis, I joined Solve as a Web Developer at the end of 2022.
As Solve offers different levels of web designer services, the web developer is required to understand several different approaches. I produced bespoke custom WordPress themes. This required developing custom templates with PHP, Advanced Custom Fields and also Gutenberg (such as Purple Goat Agency).
We also used page builders, such as Elementor, Salient and Uncode, which I used to build sites like Party Lights and Active Plus. Some sites, like Bull & Wolf, required a hybrid approach which involved writing supplementary code to go beyond the features available with the builder.
I provided non-website development support, such as developing automated emails of e-commerce site DryDrinker. I also supplemented some projects with copy writing, which included writing all web page copy for this Duchy of Cornwall website.
I was also responsible for essential maintenance work on Solve’s e-commerce sites. I also provide ad-hoc support for all clients and oversee site launches.

The Web Kitchen
Account Manager
October 2018 - April 2021, London & Remote
The Web Kitchen is a leading web design agency in Central London. Whilst particularly successful in the independent education sector, its portfolio includes clients from a wide range of industries including, media, business and technology.
I was responsible for overseeing work for clients with an ongoing support agreement. This meant we continued developing their website to ensure it was fast, secure and meeting the client’s latest requirements, beyond the initial project phase. I was responsible for around 30 client accounts and provided supplementary support on larger accounts belonging to senior colleagues.
My key accounts included Keltbray, Eton College, King’s Worcester and Global Fashion Group. I also provided supplementary support for such sites as Local Trust, Wellington College, Cambridge Enterprise and Hampton School.
This was a varied role that demanded expertise in all aspects our websites, from understanding marketing and SEO objectives to diagnosing technical issues. Some typical examples of my work included:
- Project management for smaller-scope website projects, such as reskins existing sites after a client rebranded, revamping key landing pages or adding new sections to a site. Examples include rebranded Bancroft’s, Caterham Prep and Arax Properties websites.
- Providing design and development support myself, typically for smaller tasks where briefing them into a dedicated designer or developer would have been excessive
- Diagnosing technical problems, such as why a particular site or page was slow or not behaving as expected
- Providing technical support to new sites at launch, such as browser and device testing, 301s and migration
- Producing bespoke training videos for clients on the website CMS (WordPress)
- Routine maintenance to websites and hosting services
- Providing CMS support, uploading content and providing telephone support

PageTiger
Editor
April 2015 - August 2018, Richmond
Initially an intern, I progressed quickly within PageTiger to the role of Editor. PageTiger provides software as a service to businesses for creating cloud-hosted digital page-turning publications.
My role was within the creative team. Our function was to provide support to key accounts that wanted to outsource their work on the platform back to PageTiger. My understanding of the platform and its creative potential was second to none and I became a go-to member of the team for technical questions and planning projects.
My product expertise enabled me to contribute to other areas of the business, including writing and delivering a range of training courses, both live and online. I also assisted with marketing efforts including creating demo publications and giving live demonstrations at conferences.
